African and Latin American Travel Award

IEEE Sensors Council – African and Latin American Travel Award

The IEEE Sensors Council is delighted to support the African and Latin American Travel Award. The goal of this Award is to foster participation from underrepresented nations at IEEE SENSORS 2024.

Eligibility: The competition is open to all early career (young professionals) and graduate students in the technical areas and professions related to sensors who are resident in Africa and Latin America. The applicant must be listed as the primary author on the abstract. A maximum of two authors (one per paper) from any one institution will receive a travel grant.

Fund Value: The amount of financial assistance provided to each student will be based on specifics of the travel involved and cannot exceed a maximum of $1000 USD. Registration Fees will also be covered. 

Apply: An application for a travel award will consist of a statement from the applicant, and a letter from the applicant’s line manager or student’s research advisor with a justification of financial need. The applicant’s statement should include a summary of research interests, and a statement of why the applicant will benefit from participating in the symposium.
